10 Hot books every IT entrepreneur simply must read

Books are one of the best investments available. For very little money you can pick the minds of some of the most successful people in the world. The authors often share a lifetime’s experience for you to learn from.

I have read an enormous number of books but some stand out from the crowd. The list below represents the pinnacle of my readings. They are books that are so insightful and revealing that I consider them downright essential for anyone in this business.

Book #1: Magic Words That Bring You Riches
Ted Nicholas has written an absolute masterpiece here. This book is about marketing and how the words you use can make a huge difference in your life. Ted has incredible credentials – he is a best selling author, has started over 20 companies and is a multi-millionaire. All his books are very readable and will keep you enthralled from start to finish.

He also does a tape set under the same title. There are 20 cassettes in all and you also get a workbook. The tapes are exceptional. Get them from Nightingale Conant at www.nightingaleconant.com

Book #2: The Emyth Revisited
Michael Gerber is the guy who inspired me to start growing my business instead of remaining as a one-man band. His methodologies show how any small business should go about growing into a multi-employee company.

His book is good but I found his tape set even better. Gerber’s speaking style is very motivating and I’ve practically worn out my cassette player with his tapes!

Janet Ruhl has written a book packed full of advice on being an effective computer consultant. There are charts, checklists, and pointers on what to say. I highly recommend you buy this book.

An excellent book that doesn’t pull any punches about how business works. The author shares his philosophy created from what he has learnt in the business world. He explains how the self help and positive-thinking books he has read did not have the effect he hope. So instead, he formed his own “rules” based on what actually worked for him..

Robert J. Ringer shows how he turned the tables from being intimidated by clients to being someone in a position of power.

Pick this book up and you will not be able to put it down. Very good.
